We present the design, fabrication, simulation and initial characterisation of tantalum pentoxide (Ta 2 O 5 ) optical waveguides micro-ring resonators for purpose supercontinuum frequency comb generation. Spectral broadening results are presented linear Ta a range central pump wavelengths between 900 nm 1500 nm. These used as basis dispersion engineering development resonators. The losses sputtered TEOS PECVD deposited SiO top cladded characterised using Fabry-Pérot loss measurement set-up.
